Well today I have been trying out a program to allow streaming from my Macbook Pro (Lion osx installed) to my Xbox 360.
Now for the last few years I have been using a program from Nullsoft, called Connect 360, this program has worked really well and I never felt the need to change. Then I upgraded to OSX Lion, things were not as smooth, when I stream movies from my Mac to the 360, I keep getting slowdowns in the movies and then jitters, finally the (Can’t connect to the computer) message.
I had recently seen a mention of another program that was able to do the same job, it was given a high rating review, so I thought, why not give it a go. The program is called Playback, by Yazsoft, I had nothing to loose has Yazsoft supply a demo (its the full version, but time limited), and so downloaded and installed quickly.
Its a universal program so will work on intel and ibm chipsets, and weighs in at 47mb installed. A doddle to set up and use and very pleasing results, (does what it says on the tin) comes to mind.

Playback allows you to share your media with any Playstation 3, Xbox 360, or other UPnP compatible device. It automatically integrates with iTunes, iPhoto, Aperture, Photobooth, Adobe Lightroom 2 and more. You can share all content from these applications or choose specific playlists and albums.
Playback can also share media stored in folders or even make entire disks available to your Playstation 3 or Xbox 360. By default, Playback will share almost any content on your system. No configuration required!
If you prefer to tinker, you’ll appreciate Playback’s built-in access control list (ACL) and bandwidth throttling. The ACL allows you to control which devices have access to your media. Bandwidth throttling limits the transfer rate from your computer to your UPnP device so others on your network can still surf the web and check their email.
Of course, if speed is your thing, we’ve got that too. Playback was engineered for extreme speed. Your media is powered and served via Nginx (http://wiki.nginx.org/Main ). Nginx is known for its high performance, stability, rich feature set, simple configuration, and low resource consumption. Nginx powers several high-visibility sites, such as WordPress, Hulu, Github, Ohloh, SourceForge and TorrentReactor.
Other features include Growl notifications, on-screen thumbnails powered by QuickLook, and much more!

Here I am testing a new plugin, it allows me to insert video/pictures/music etc, directly into my posts.
Well what can I say, its been a very busy time for me at the moment, I’m still running about and not seeming to be able to catch my tail.
Work is still hectic and does not show any signs of slowing down. Now if only the payment gateway was sorted, it would jump with business.
At least I’m now getting some gaming in at night with my pal and kids
