Some things may change on the phone which is dependent on the country and provider you get your phone from, here in the UK, the phone comes with Googles Android 2.1 as standard with the update to Froyo due near the end of September, (I am currently using an early version of Froyo, and its looking very promising).
I have had this phone for about 4 to 5 weeks and have been giving it plenty of playing with, this is my 4th Android phone and by far the best I have used.
The TouchWiz interface does take a bit of getting used to, but on the hole, its a decent interface, I find the phone very fast to react to my touch and the amount of things that the unit can do is nothing short of amazing. The only thing I originally was a bit skeptical about was the camera, (I’m used to a flash), but found that this didn’t present any problems and infact was very very good when taking pictures in the evening. The fact that the zoom is on the volume which when holding the phone as a camera, is actually underneath on the left hand side (I had been using the camera for awhile and thinking that this was really the only thing missing, which I thought was a bit daft), but it seems a bit more RTFM, would have sorted this out… LOL
These were taken without changing any phone settings, I will be playing around more over the next few weeks, I have staying in Buxton during the first week of September and so will be playing with the hd video recording feature then.

Here is my first post from my new mobile phone, just received today, what can I say but it certainly is a cool piece of equipment

Installed a beta version of android 2.1 from modaco today, yes it does the odd random reset and has a few force closes, but all in all its very very good.
But to put it into perspective, I used the 1.5 version that came with phone, and can tell you that it was not without problems.
Various force closes, dropped calls and very sluggish. So is it worth updating to the beta, well for me the answer is yes. Smoother performance, nicer look and feel, quicker response in most programs and just so much nicer to look at, the addition of easier to use key press helps too.

Here I have done this using Mozilla Thunderbird, although it works very similar on other email programs like MS Outlook and Outlook Express, as well as Mail on the Mac.
Some even allow you to drag and drop the image or file directly into the email.
email attach – play on windows pc, etc

Well it’s been awhile, unfortunately with work being busy and early starts then late finish, I have been rather tired and not really done much.
My car has gone for a new clutch, poor thing, it struggled but still kept going, the work is due to be carried out on Monday 12th, so I have been doing the very early trek to the train etc, I’m just pleased that the weather held, lovely sunny mornings and dry evenings.
There appears to have been quite alot of down time with this server, so Chris is working on getting the site to a new server and at the same time, totally upgrading my sites back and front end, so please bare with me while the work is being done.
Hope you have a nice relaxed weekend, enjoy the sun while you can
